Erosion had occurred for some time along the north coast shoreline due to high lake levels, resulting in breaches of the existing erosion control and damage to the hillside and bluff.
We provided environmental, design, surveying, and construction services to construct approximately 200 linear feet of revetment west of the existing pier.
The revetment was placed on 4–6-ton toe stone and 2–4-ton armor stone (1,900 tons) with concrete rubble underfill (3,750 tons) with fabric.
The revetment's top elevation is ~ 585.0, and 400 cubic yards of sand were prefilled. The revetment was placed to repel water and wave action, and the slope was graded to engineering specifications.
This effort was part of a three-year project to save and reinforce the 445-foot park shoreline. The shoreline is now secure, and the slumping that was eating away at the bank has been stopped.
