Ohio Brownfields Program Funding: Get Ready Now for Next Application Deadline
July 10, 2024
As Ohioans eagerly await the Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) announcements regarding the FY 2024 Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program first-round grant awards, the Verdantas team is actively supporting efforts to prepare for the FY 2025 funding round.
This round, which is expected to begin later this year—possibly as soon as late summer 2024—will make $175 million available through competitive grant funds to support brownfield property assessments, acquisition, cleanup, demolition, and infrastructure. Applications must be submitted through each county land bank or another county-designated entity.
If you haven’t started planning your submittal yet, now is the ideal time to begin, and our team at Verdantas is here to support you! In the current FY 2024 round, we helped prepare 18 applications for public, non-profit, and private clients, requesting over $43 million from ODOD through the land banks. Additionally, in the previous budget cycle, Verdantas helped our clients successfully secure 23 grants worth $76.4 million through the same program, amounting to over $300 million in federal and state brownfield grants over the years.
The time is now to begin planning your submittal and our team is ready to help!
The Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program is a statewide grant program that provides funds to clean up contaminated sites and prepare them for future economic development.
