Gregory Allen

Director of Environmental and Engineering Services

As the Director of Alden’s Environmental and Engineering Services, Greg relies on his extensive experience preparing preliminary front-end engineering designs of fish passage and fish protection projects. He has overseen and managed numerous projects related to fish protection and fish passage at desalination, thermal power and water resource projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. This experience has included laboratory and field studies and feasibility and design projects. He specializes in developing solutions for fisheries and debris management issues at large intakes for desalination, steam electric and hydroelectric projects. He is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and oversees a staff of Engineers and Scientists.

Areas of Expertise: Clean Water Act 316(b) Rule compliance; fish protection technology evaluations for cooling water intakes; hydraulic and hydrologic analyses; debris management at water intakes; upstream and downstream fish passage evaluations and design, engineering economics; detailed structural and civil designs, including construction document preparation.
