Replicating Real-World Conditions for Diverse Flow Meters & Fluid Handling Equipment
At Verdantas Flow Labs, we ensure your calibrations are tailored to match real-world scenarios using the correct piping layout, flow ranges, and measurement outputs. Our clients range from power plants and water treatment facilities to petrochemical companies and government agencies—essentially anyone who requires precise flow measurement with low uncertainties, performance acceptance testing, or handle transfer.
Ensuring traceability and quality assurance is a top priority for our clients. As the largest independent supplier of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable water flow meter calibrations in the United States, we maintain a quality system that meets the highest industry standards.
Our standard calibration includes testing across 12 points, covering a wide range of flow conditions that highlight the operating range of each flow meter. Clients can also request custom tests, adding more points or changing the testing scope to fit their needs. Our large test area allows us to replicate the piping configurations, as used in the field, when upstream flow conditions are less than ideal. Therefore, any effects of flow anomalies are accounted for during the calibration. These custom piping configurations include but are not limited to, short pipe lengths, elbows, valves, strainers, and flow conditioners.
We Maintain a Quality System That Meets or Exceeds
- ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Nuclear Users Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) standards
- ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 (supersedes MIL-STD-45662A)
Testing
Allen Facility
- Fish Passage Feasibility Assessments
- ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. A2LA Cert. No. 4936.01
- Max flow of ~20,000 GPM, Min flow of 0.05 GPM
- Water is supplied from a 200,000 gallon sump heated to 105°F (able to heat water to 120°F)
- Accredited Uncertainty: 0.08% or 0.10% at the 95% confidence interval based on the test line used
- Max Pressure: 150PSIG for typical calibrations
- High pressure loop is 1,200 PSIG at 120 GPM
- Pipe Sizes: 0.5” up to 48”
Hopper Facility
- ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. A2LA Cert. No. 4936.01
- Max flow of ~30,000 GPM, Min flow of 0.05 GPM
- Water is supplied from a local pond. Therefore, flow can be supplied without the use of pumps (this is beneficial with sensitive electronic meters). Water temperature is dependent on season.
- Accredited Uncertainty: 0.08%, 0.10%, or 0.25% at the 95% confidence interval based on the test line used
